What is Ecstasy?

Ecstasy is a psychoactive stimulant that is made of the chemical 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, or MDMA. It is a synthetic drug that is made in a laboratory and is known as a “club drug” as young people typically use this drug in the clubs. Ecstasy is detected in the urine for a few days, typically between 1 and 3 days.

Ecstasy reduces inhibitions and creates intense tactile experiences for users. It also produces a distortion in time and perception, making the club experience more enjoyable.

Ecstasy produces a profound tactile euphoria. It affects serotonin levels in the brain, making users sensitive to touch and stimulation. MDMA affects the ability of the body to regulate its temperature; making a user susceptible to hyperthermia and dehydration. Once the high has worn off, many users experience feelings of depression that can last several days.
